Top Healthcare Facilities Obtain Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Accreditation

DAYTON, Ohio (December 6, 2021) – Three Premier Health facilities have achieved Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accreditation in adult transthoracic echocardiography.

Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Miami Valley Hospital South in Centerville, and Premier Cardiovascular Institute in Beavercreek recently received three-year accreditation from the IAC.

“IAC accreditation is a seal of approval that patients can count on as an indicator of consistent quality care and a dedication to continuous improvement,” said Muhanad Al-Zubaidi, MD, Medical Director of Premier Cardiovascular Institute. “This achievement demonstrates Premier Health’s commitment to quality echocardiography patient care.”

Echocardiography is used to evaluate different areas of the heart and can detect heart disease or signs of serious cardiovascular disease using high frequency sound waves.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, more than 2,150 Americans die every day from cardiovascular disease, or about one every 40 seconds.

Consisting of a detailed self-assessment, followed by an in-depth review by a panel of medical experts, the IAC accreditation process assesses both the critical operational and technical components of the candidate facility. , including representative case studies and their corresponding final reports.
