Put health workers’ well-being first, Guild tells government
Lagos Medical Guild President Dr Funso Ahmad called on the state government to prioritize the welfare of health workers.
Ahmad, in a statement released on Monday, also urged the government to encourage the professional and academic development of health workers for the continued provision of quality health care.
He is said to have said this when he was inaugurated as the new Guild president. He succeeded Dr Oluwajimi Sodipo.
âMy vision for the Medical Guild is the continued struggle towards actualizing the mission of the Medical Guild; protect and promote the well-being of members; encourage the professional and academic development of members for the continued provision of quality health care and the promotion of favorable working conditions.
âContributing to the growth of the health sector in the state is one of the main commitments of the Guild. Updating the Guild’s goals invariably ensures this, as it ensures better care for the right people in the state, âAhmad said.
The other members of the new Guild leaders are Oyenuga Dankuwo (vice-president); Oladele Awodun (secretary); Akinade Adekunle (Deputy Secretary) and Omowunmi Oreagba (Treasurer).
The others are Babajide Olaitan (financial secretary); Adeniyi Balogun (advertising secretary); Japhet Olugbodi (Social Secretary) and Oluwakemi Ojikutu (Internal Auditor).
