Newly launched Women’s Forum aimed at supporting female health workers in Johannesburg Health District

To boost women’s empowerment and establish social dialogue among female employees, the Johannesburg Health District launched a women’s forum at the Diepsloot Youth Center on August 12.

The launch brought together more than 200 women who work in various clinics and those who work in district offices.

Gauteng Department of Health Deputy Director Lombuso Matlala said the newly launched forum will help improve the lives of workers.

She said the forum would be a platform where women could share their struggles and challenges that affect their daily lives and negatively impact their work.

“Through this platform, women will have the opportunity to share best practices focused on reducing the vulnerability of girls and women to violence in all its forms, as well as highlighting the role of women as agents of peace and development in South Africa.
