Government will provide basic health facilities to the masses: Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan

Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said the government was doing its best to provide basic health care facilities and other essential services to residents of the valley.

MIRPUR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – September 14, 2022): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan said the government was doing its best to provide basic healthcare facilities and other services essential to the inhabitants of the valley.

Prime Minister AJK said this during a ceremony hosted by Azad Jammu and Kashmir Medical College in the state metropolis on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that doctors enjoy “Messiah” status in every society, but a true “Messiah” is one who has the spirit and passion to serve humanity. Stressing the importance of doctors in society, he said, “Saving human lives is the greatest task in the world.” He said the government was paying particular attention to improving health services.

Sardar Tanveer urged to improve medical education and said that in addition to technical education, emphasis should also be placed on building the character of students.

The prime minister said the government would provide funds to set up research laboratories at the college.

He said that women have proven themselves in all fields, especially in the medical field.

The AJK premier announced that the government would solve the problems faced by the medical school.

On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. Nisar Ansar Abdali said that the health care system will be strengthened in the AJK. He said a medical university would soon be established.

Addressing the event, the Country Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Pletha Mahipala said that the WHO is ready to provide health facilities to the people of Azad Kashmir. He appreciated the opening of a telemedicine center at Azad Kashmir Medical College.

Addressing the ceremony, Senior Professor Mulazim Hussain Bukhari thanked the guests for attending the symposium. He also presented the shield to the prime minister.

Previously, the Prime Minister inaugurated the blood laboratory established within the medical faculty and inspected various departments.
