CMA launches national campaign uniting Canadians in support of healthcare workers
As we enter the 19e month of the COVID-19 pandemic and in response to recent harassment of healthcare workers, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is launching a campaign to encourage Canadians to voice their support for from Canada personal health. The “I’m With Healthcare Workers” campaign encourages Canadians to show their support and appreciation for healthcare workers by adding filters to their Facebook and Instagram accounts or by using the hashtag #StandWithHealthWorkers.
“Our healthcare workers have shown extreme resilience and compassion throughout this pandemic and deserve our gratitude. Over the past few months we have seen a small proportion of the population devalue our healthcare professionals and it is time to raise our collective voices and speak louder, ”said Dr. Intelligent Catherine, president of the CMA. “As this pandemic continues, we need to recognize and thank our healthcare staff who have been there from day one. ”
In a recent investigation According to the CMA, 87% of Canadians agreed that supporting healthcare workers was a priority, recognizing that such support will lead to better access to care and quality of care.
It’s time to step up the vaccination campaign
The CMA reminds Canadians that they can help by getting the COVID-19 vaccine, respecting social distancing, wearing masks and following local public health guidelines. The CMA also encourages governments to step up vaccination campaigns to encourage Canadians who are reluctant to get vaccinated to get vaccinated.
“To be Canadian is to care about your neighbor, to have a community spirit and to choose to be vaccinated,” adds Dr. Smart. “It is an act of compassion for the people around you and those who care for you. Health workers are doing their part. It is time for us to do the same.
