ACPACI distributes PPE to health workers
The Association of Chartered Accountants in Business and Industry (ACPACI) was one of the private organizations that supported the government’s efforts to stem the transmission of CoViD-19 among primary healthcare. As part of one of his social engagement projects in 2020, he distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) to health workers at Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC).
According to Ms. Florencia Gorospe, director of social engagement at ACPACI, the health and safety of health professionals is paramount in this period of pandemic especially with the lack of health professionals in the country. CAPACI partnered with the Philippine Association of Management Accountants (PAMA) and the SM Foundation, Inc. on the project.
Besides Gorospe, present during the distribution were Mr. Noel Ang, president for social involvement, Lolita Tang, president of PAMA, and representatives of the MCMC led by Dra. Lyn Cequeña. Founded in 1973, CAPACI aims to improve the professional development of CPAs in commerce and industry. Since its founding, its membership has grown to include controllers, financial officers and other executives affiliated with leading companies.
